Packers Injury Situation Looks a Little Better Today
Good news. Three of the Green Bay Packers walking wounded practiced today.
After sitting out yesterday, both guard Josh Sitton and tight end Jermichael Finley returned to practice. Safety Morgan Burnett practiced for the second straight day.
Sitton has a back injury that bothered him during the San Francisco game. Finley hurt his toe early during that game, but still played virtually the entire game. His return to practice appears to be an encouraging sign. Coach Mike McCarthy said yesterday Finley wouldn’t practice until Friday, so it appears the injury isn’t as serious as initially thought.
Burnett, meanwhile, is battling a hamstring injury that cost him week one. It’s encouraging that he practiced for the second straight day, but he’s not out of the woods yet.
Burnett also practiced on Wednesday and Thursday last week before pulling up lame on Friday.
The only guy who’s already been scratched from this week’s game is cornerback Casey Hayward. He’s expected to miss two more weeks after this one.
Monty McMahon is one of the founders of Total Packers. He is probably the most famous graduate of UW-Oshkosh next to Jim Gantner.
