The Green Bay Packers should have all of their wide receivers ready for week 1. PFT confirmed that Jordy Nelson will be ready to play against San Francisco, last night.
That didn’t appear too certain at several junctures during the preseason. Nelson had knee surgery in early August and missed almost all of training camp. Initial word was that Nelson had a lingering issue with the knee, but that he could have played through it.
By scheduling the surgery when they did, the Packers all but guaranteed Nelson’s return for week 1… except for when Nelson didn’t seem too sure about that.
Well, now we can apparently all be sure.
Jordy played in only 12 games last season after his breakout 2011 campaign. He caught 49 balls for 745 yards and 7 TDs. When he played all 16 games in 2011, he caught 68 balls for 1,263 yards and 15 TDs.
So it would sure be nice if he made it through an entire season, this year.
