Back to back Ted Thompson classes. That guy must be a genius!
In this case, he was. Thompson took defensive tackle B.J. Raji early in the first round and then traded back into the round to grab linebacker Clay Matthews. Those two players were a huge part of the Packers defense in their 2010 championship run.
Although Raji has been uneven, he does have one Pro Bowl nod and looks to be a long-term fixture on the defensive line.
Matthews, like Rodgers, could one day find himself in Canton. Four seasons, four Pro Bowls, one first-team All Pro selection and 42.5 sacks.
The class looks even better when you throw in starting guard T.J. Lang (4th) and inside linebacker Brad Jones (7th).
