Of Course, Now Josh Sitton is Injured
And you thought we could get through the week with no new Green Bay Packers injury news.
Suddenly, right guard Josh Sitton is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.
Apparently, Sitton aggravated a hip injury on Thursday and subsequently sat out of Friday’s practice.
Par for the course for the Green Bay Packers.
While losing T.J. Lang, as the Packers did a couple weeks ago, isn’t that big of a deal, losing Sitton could be. He’s been one of the lone semi-bright spots on an otherwise, uh… nondescript offensive line.
The good news is this.
Don Barclay, who was filling in for Lang (who was filling in for Bryan Bulaga) seems to have entrenched himself at right tackle. So much so, that everyone was assuming Lang would go back to his traditional spot at left guard — and Barclay would remain the starter at right tackle — when he returned from injury.
That would shift Evan Dietrich-Smith back to the bench.
If Sitton does indeed sit out the Bears game, Dietrich-Smith is tailor-made to step in at right guard.
So, it could be worse.
