The Green Bay Packers activated outside linebacker Frank Zombo from the physically unable to perform list in advance of Sunday’s game against Arizona.
Zombo was shelved in training camp with a hamstring injury. He was eligible to come off the PUP list after week six and it looks like the Packers have decided he’s finally back in football shape.
Unfortunately for Zombo, he hasn’t seen much action since 2010, when the then undrafted rookie actually started for the Packers in the Super Bowl. In 2011, he played in only five games and started only one because of injuries.
In 13 games in 2010, Zombo had four sacks. He’s had one since.
With Nick Perry still sidelined, the Packers can use the depth Zombo will provide behind Erik Walden and Clay Matthews.
