Greg Jennings was all ready to go out and cash in on his contract year. And then it all went to shit… or at least his groin did. The Green Bay Packers receiver is considering having surgery on what must be the slowest-healing groin injury in history.
Update: Jennings will have surgery. It’s scheduled for Oct. 30 and he’ll miss three to six more weeks.
Jennings, who has missed the last three games and most of the games that came before those, got a second opinion on the injury earlier this week. Turns out rest isn’t doing the job.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy told Adam Schein surgery is an option. The good news is the surgery would not be season-ending.
So theoretically, the Packers would have Jennings when they roll into Atlanta for the playoffs and pound the crap out of Matty Ice & Co. like they did two years ago.
Also, then he might be available for the fantasy playoffs.
