Bears Anthony Adams Taunts Sick Kid

55 16

Call it whatever you want, and I’m sure some Chicago Bears fans will have something to say about it, but it seems to me like Bears defensive tackle Anthony Adams is taunting a sick kid.

The story goes like this. Adams and Bears tight end Matt Spaeth stopped by the University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s Hospital on Tuesday to spend some time with sick kids. That’s cool. Applaudable, even.

It turns out not every kid was a Bears fan, though. One of the patients was a Green Bay Packers fan and Adams left the above message on this kid’s dry erase board. I’m sure he didn’t mean any harm by it, but who knows what the kid thought.

Funny? I don’t know. Dickish? Maybe.

You be the judge.

I have ZERO problem with this. It’s great that he was volunteering his time. I think it’s a great story.

People that find this offensive need to lighten up a little.

Agreed. If you are trying to spread a little joy to sick kids you should be able to tease a kid of your rival team. I bet the kid got a kick out of it too!

Double A was having some fun with a kid. I’m sure that even though he’s the kid is a Packers fan he was pumped that a larger than life guy showed up to wish him well. Once again the press is spinning stuff to make a gesture like this a bad thing.

The kid’s response should have been ” Because the Bears still suck! What kind of a question is that anyway? Why aren’t you a Packers player? Is it because you settle for good enough?”

Given the fact that he met the kid and we haven’t, I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. It’s entirely possible there was some friendly ribbing and this is partly the result of it. I’d also bet the kid got a kick out of it.

Ryan, I can kind of see your poi… Fuck the Bears. Don’t be a pussy! I don’t take offense to to that, I just hate the Bears. Is that OK with you Ryan? If not then I’ll send you some kleenex and chick flicks, that should take care of your sensitive little feelings. This is football, man up and start talking shit! Go Pack!

Overreact much? I don’t like the Bears either but give me a break. I don’t really care what you think but I’m not sure why you are calling me sensitive? I’m the one saying there is no reason to get offended by this.

So the opposite of offensive. Seems like he treated the kid like a kid instead of like a sick kid, teasing him about his team allegiance and having fun with him. Probably a relief to have someone not treat him with kid gloves for once.

Well considering the kid was a Packers fan he probably followed Packer fan code which clear reads as follows:

    sec 13 par G

“In the event said Packers fan encounters a situation were he has the opportunity to speak to a Bears player, whether current or retired said Packer fan should refer the said Bears player as cunt.

i.e. Hey cunt you do realize your QB is a fragile version of Drew Stanton.”

So no I don’t think his response was out of line.

Easy to get all shitty and hyped up about this since most of the things that Bears players and their fans do is “Dickish” to borrow a term, but then I asked myself, when was the last time you went to a hospital to visit with sick kids? But then I wondered what kid would care whether I came to visit him or not?

I get both sides of this argument, but since the guy plays for the Bears, I have to concur and go with Dickish.

He is a Packers fan because he doesn’t want to waste his time on Sundays being disappointed. I do have a problem with that. Fucking douche bag Anthony Adams.

Ryan, the objective vagina, watches the Oxygen channel. Don’t pick on him and his point of view. As vaginal as it may be.
