Johnny Jolly: My Only Friend Was Codeine [Video]
Former Green Bay Packers defensive end Johnny Jolly, who’s been arrested three times for codeine possession and could face a lengthy jail term, will appear on ESPN’s Outside the Lines.
He reveals his addiction, what it was like being away from the team and the reason for his indefinite suspension by the league — he tested positive for the drug.
“My only friend was the codeine, and it kept me numb. It kept me from losing my mind. Me losing football is like me losing a loved one, or a bunch of loved ones, at one time,” he said.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has said the NFL is partly to blame for Jolly’s troubles because they took him away from his support system. You’ll probably agree after watching this.
