Ryan Grant Took A Pay Cut
Perhaps he saw the writing on the wall.
Grant took a $1 million pay cut. His base salary was lowered from $3.5 million to $2.5 million and his salary cap number was reduced from $5.65 million to $3.87 million.
Grant’s bonuses — a $1 million roster bonus and $750,000 in total per game roster bonuses — will remain intact in the restructured deal. The Packers could have pushed the day the roster bonus is due back, however.
If Grant doesn’t make the team’s final roster, they could save an additional $1.75 by changing the date his roster bonus is due. It was due on the 15th day of the league year in his previous contract.
The move seems to be an indication the Packers don’t consider Grant a top-line starter anymore.
