Safety [intlink id=”442″ type=”category”]Brandon Underwood[/intlink] had a chance to make the Green Bay Packers roster as a backup despite his ongoing legal trouble, but that chance just got slimmer.
Underwood sprained his knee over the weekend and will miss several weeks.
The third-year player had been running with the second team alongside [intlink id=”525″ type=”category”]Charlie Peprah[/intlink]. Anthony Levine, who was on the Packers practice squad last season, has moved up.
The Packers haven’t made a habit of hanging onto backups who don’t stay healthy and the coaching staff was high Levine’s potential coming into camp.
If Underwood remains out for an extended period, he’s probably watching his final days as a Packer from the sidelines.
[intlink id=”375″ type=”category”]Anthony Smith[/intlink], who remains unsigned, could be someone the team considers bringing back.
