Rodgers Best NFL Player At ESPYs; Packers Represented [Photos]
Like most sane people, we didn’t bother to watch the farce of an awards show know as the ESPYs, but Green Bay Packers quarterback [intlink id=”25″ type=”category”]Aaron Rodgers[/intlink] took home the award for best NFL player.
We’re going to assume Rodgers won the award because the Packers won the Super Bowl. NFL MVP Tom Brady was also nominated.
“I’m very happy to win but I would really like to focus on us as a team,” Rodgers said. “I was brought up to be humble and that’s how I live my life. I’m glad I won but I didn’t do it alone.”
The winners are chosen by fans, who vote for the awards online, which makes the ESPYs nothing more than a popularity contest and a massive traffic generator for ESPN so they can pump up their advertising rates and make more money.
Anyway, the Packers were up for some other awards, as well and didn’t win any of them. Most notably, they lost best team to the Dallas Mavericks.
Rodgers, alongside Justin Timberlake, was also a presenter, handing the best male college athlete award to BYU guard Jimmer Fredette.
Several other Packers were in attendance, including [intlink id=”76″ type=”category”]Donald Driver[/intlink], [intlink id=”454″ type=”category”]Clay Matthews[/intlink], [intlink id=”138″ type=”category”]Greg Jennings[/intlink], [intlink id=”525″ type=”category”]Charlie Peprah[/intlink], [intlink id=”492″ type=”category”]Desmond Bishop[/intlink] and [intlink id=”88″ type=”category”]Jarrett Bush[/intlink], as you’ll see in the gallery.
By the way Aaron, nice glasses, brah!
