Remember Aaron Rodgers’ Draft Day?
By now, you know the story of Green Bay Packers quarterback [intlink id=”25″ type=”category”]Aaron Rodgers[/intlink]’ experience at the NFL Draft.
Rodgers was under consideration for the No. 1 overall pick. The [intlink id=”89″ type=”category”]San Francisco 49ers[/intlink] ended up choosing Utah quarterback Alex Smith.
Jon Gruden and the [intlink id=”68″ type=”category”]Tampa Bay Buccaneers[/intlink] passed on Rodgers several picks later.
And then the free fall started. Rodgers, who was sitting in the green room waiting to get drafted while the cameras chronicled his disappointment as pick after pick went by, finally got drafted by the Packers at No. 24.
Today, everyone is kicking themselves and Rodgers is a Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion.
On draft day, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen uttered this while the [intlink id=”158″ type=”category”]Kansas City Chiefs[/intlink] were selecting at No. 15.
“Just remember, the National Football League invited Aaron Rodgers here because they too thought he would be gone by now.”
That seems like a long time ago, now.
