Packers Throw Out First Pitch, Brewers Immediately Sign Them
Twelve members of the world champion Green Bay Packers were on hand for the Milwaukee Brewers home opener Monday afternoon to throw out the first pitch… er, pitches.
I’m only kidding about the Brewers signing anyone, but hell, none of the Packers have anything to do during the damn lockout and the Brewers supposedly vaunted pitching staff has lead the team to an 0-4 start, so both sides might as well look at all their options.
The Packers on hand were running backs John Kuhn and Ryan Grant, tight ends Tom Crabtree and Andrew Quarless, tackles Bryan Bulaga and Chad Clifton, cornerback Tramon Williams, safety Nick Collins, receiver Jordy Nelson, punter Tim Masthay and linebackers Desmond Bishop and Frank Zombo.
As has become normal this season for the Brewers, one of the guys the Brewers trotted out to the mound completely shit the bed. Today, the culprit was reliever Takashi Saito, who gave up two solo home runs in the eighth after starter Chris Narveson threw six scoreless.
The Brewers lost 2-1.
