Jordy Nelson: Warrior

Could've had another TD catch.

There was word Green Bay Packers receiver [intlink id=”22″ type=”category”]Jordy Nelson[/intlink] suffered an injury during [intlink id=”1425″ type=”category”]Super Bowl XLV[/intlink], but the extent of it wasn’t reported.

Nelson suffered a bursa sac injury in his left knee — bursa sacs are filled with fluid and act as a gliding surface to reduce friction between tissues in the body (yeah, I looked that up).

The injury affected Nelson’s ability during the game, according to coach [intlink id=”67″ type=”category”]Mike McCarthy[/intlink], and after, he was taken to the team plane in a wheelchair.

If  you remember, QB [intlink id=”25″ type=”category”]Aaron Rodgers[/intlink] threw a corner route to Nelson on third and goal from the 5-yard line and the ball skimmed off the receiver’s hands..

McCarthy said he watched the tape several times and that it was obvious that Nelson could not push off his left leg the way he normally would and, if he weren’t injured, would have caught the pass for a touchdown, giving the Packers a 10-point lead.

Despite the injury, Nelson played the entire game and finished with a team-leading nine receptions for 140 yards and a touchdown.

That’s how it’s supposed to be done, [intlink id=”405″ type=”category”]Jay Cutler[/intlink].

I bought a custom McFarlane of Jordy in tribute to his monster performance in the Super Bowl! He is a warrior and I am willing to bet he will be a starter opposite Jennings in a couple of years!

A couple of years, are you serious. That man starts as #2 now and if DD and JJ don’t like it,one can retire and other can just go away.

Wow, impressive. A very painful injury; pretty much any movement at all would cause some significant pain.

    Hats off to Jordy!

Ever since he was drafted I’ve complained that I wish the Pack had chosen D Jax, but slowly Jordy is winning me over!

He stepped it up in a big way this year. Pitt didn’t know what to do with him in the Superbowl.

If Finley comes back from the knee this recieving core is tops in the League for years!
