2011 NFL Draft
Well, it took forever, but that’s the price you pay for being Super Bowl champions. With the No. 32 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected Mississippi State tackle Derek Sherrod. The Packers actually had multiple options with the pick — there were several pass-rushing outside linebackers available, most notably UCLA’s […]
Yeah, although we have 20 better things we could be doing, we’re going to sit here and give you commentary, as only Total Packers can, on the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Check in, refresh, masturbate, leave comments or go blather about stuff in our forum. The latest info will be at the […]
The Green Bay Packers got lucky in the 2010 NFL Draft. The player they needed, Iowa tackle Bryan Bulaga, landed in their lap at No. 23 when most “experts” expected him to go higher. Bulaga didn’t necessarily slide down draft boards because of questions about his ability, character or health, as some highly-rated prospects do.
You’ve probably heard the name of UCLA linebacker Akeem Ayers by now. We’ve talked about him as a possibility for the Green Bay Packers at No. 32. Well, Ayers would probably be gone well before the Packers choose in the first round of the NFL Draft if his 40 times were a little better. Ayers […]
Ohio State defensive end Cameron Heyward has been the popular pick for the Green Bay Packers in a lot of mock drafts, recently. It’s not a surprise. Heyward seems to be floating somewhere in the 25-to-32 range, he’s projected as a 3-4 defensive end in the pros and the Packers will be down a man […]
The Green Bay Packers chose at No. 32 in the 2011 NFL Draft. While the team doesn’t have many glaring holes, there are several areas they need to shore up and improve. Primarily, the Packers need a pass-rushing outside linebacker to complement Clay Matthews, upgrades on the left side of the offensive line and center, and defensive line and wide receiver depth.
UCLA linebacker Akeem Ayers seems to be rising up draft boards after a strong pro day — one at which Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson was in attendance. Ayers (6-2 1/2, 259) was largely considered a second-round talent, but appears to have put himself on the cusp of the first round after posting times of […]
The Green Bay Packers got something for Aaron Kampman after all. The Packers received a fourth-round compensatory pick for losing Kampman in free agency last year. The NFL doles out draft picks for teams who lose more free agents than they sign and everyone knows the Packers don’t sign anyone, so the loss of Kampman, who signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, landed them a pretty decent draft pick.
Arizona linebacker Brooks Reed will be the newest member of the Green Bay Packers, if you believe every idiot with a mock draft. It may not be unanimous, but Reed is the player most often associated with the Packers’ No. 32 pick. The team needs a pass-rushing, 3-4 outside linebacker and Reed fits the bill, […]
The Green Bay Packers are one of five teams interested in Hampton defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis, according to Aaron Wilson. There’s a lot to like about Ellis, who’s 6-5, 346. Ellis isn’t the typical small-school prospect who will need time to develop in the NFL. He started his career at South Carolina, before getting dismissed […]
