Packers Sign Andrew Quarless
The Green Bay Packers have locked up fifth-rounder Andrew Quarless, a talented, but troubled tight end from Penn State.
Quarless received an $183,000 signing bonus, but salary and length of the deal have not been reported.
He was the Packers first of two fifth-round picks (No. 154) and joins guard Marshall Newhouse (fifth), running back James Starks (sixth) and defensive end C.J. Wilson (seventh) as Packers’ draft picks who are under contract.
Quarless had issues with alcohol in college, receiving both an underage drinking citation and a DUI. However, he’s 6-4, 254 and has great hands.
Quarless’ addition likely spells the end of Donald Lee’s tenure with the Green Bay Packers.
Here’s a look at Quarless.
