It looks like Green Bay Packers’ cornerback Tramon Williams did sign his restricted free agent tender before the team-imposed June 15 deadline.
That fact was confirmed today by the league. Williams is scheduled to make $3.1 million this season.
For some reason, Williams’ name did not appear on the NFL’s transaction list on Tuesday. Meanwhile, defensive end Johnny Jolly’s name did — Jolly also signed his tender on Monday.
When Williams’ name didn’t appear, it was widely assumed he didn’t sign. Had he not signed, the Packers were prepared to reduce their offer to 110 percent of Williams’ 2009 salary, or $584,078.
Safety Atari Bigby remains the Packers’ only unsigned veteran.
Now, if the Packers would just sign Williams to a long-term deal, we won’t have to worry about all of this posturing next offseason.
