Green Bay Packers’ first-round draft pick Bryan Bulaga is a big boy, but he showed he’s a little more than just a wide body last night.
Bulaga took batting practice before the Milwaukee Brewers went out and got swept by the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday. While quarterback Aaron Rodgers and tackle Mark Tauscher combined for three home runs during a BP session with the Brewers earlier in the month, Bulaga knocked 14 out of the park yesterday, several of which went into the upper deck.
That’s reason for excitement for Packers’ fans, who got used to watching the left side of the Packers’ offensive line break down last season — something that likely contributed to Rodgers’ recently-reported injuries. Bulaga is considered the eventual successor to Chad Clifton at left tackle.
Now, if Prince Fielder would take a cue from Bulaga and start hitting some home runs, maybe the Brewers could string together some wins.
