A report came out of the Twin Cities today that Brett Favre may be planning on sticking around for another year to torment the Green Bay Packers… I mean, to play quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings.
Favre is, of course, already signed for $13 million next season, but we all know how the postseason retirement dance goes with Brett. The Pioneer Press’ Charley Walters, however, points to this ray of hope – a rumor that Favre has purchased land in Preston, Minn. for deer hunting.
The theory goes, if Favre is buying land, then he’s probably planning on being more than one and done in Minneapolis. There’s nothing confirming the rumor and the idea is only speculation, so make what you will of it.
It’s likely Favre will ultimately make his decision based on whether his body holds up throughout this season and the Vikings’ chances next season, rather than the availability of good hunting land, but who knows what goes through Brett’s head.
He’s already had his revenge against the Packers. Brett Favre never wanted revenge against the Packers, so that certainly won’t factor into his decision.
Look on the bright side, though. The chances of Favre accidentally shooting Jared Allen in the leg just went up dramatically.
